Yesterday I drove from Eindhoven to camping de Montreal (08:00-18:45, 900km).

Today from camping de Montreal to Ossèse, 4 hrs driving.
The first part is easy

and scenic.

Later on you climb to a plateau

where you have to cross this stream.

Memento mori on the trail.

I arrive at a sort of pass where Port de Tavascan comes in view.

The French call it the Port de Marterat.

I spot a remarkable engraving on this rock.

I have seen such engravings more in other parts of the Pyrenees and I suppose they demarcate shepherd's territories.

The last part of the climb is tough.

I leave my backpack in the cabane and continue

Then returning to the cabane to spend the night there.

I am tired after this long ascent.

Cabane de Marterat, the wind howls around the cabin and the door rattles.

Surprisingly, I have still gsm-coverage and I can telephone and whatsapp with home.
